I'm Floored

Floor supports and Subfloor are installed.  That pile of lumber, uncerimoneously dumped near the front door in our last post is now an organized subfloor system which is designed to support all our furniture and
appliances and especially the highest psf load of all; the master closet for Dee's shoes.

The joists run north and south supported by the foundation walls and a large beam down the center which itself is supported by those concrete piers we saw in the earlier posts when the foundation was poured.

And then the first layer of plywood is laid down.  Now it looks like the deck of an aircraft carrier.  Perspective and optical perception is a funny thing.  When it was just concrete foundation walls we were saying "Oh my!  Everything is too small."  Now it looks like we could land a 737 on it without arrestor cables.  Guess that's another reason to hire a good architect (which we did).

Ordered some extra rock for the driveway.  Not sure when they are going to build the new driveway but we are supposed to have a week or so of dry but cool weather so probably as good a time as any.  You'll know when I know.

Till next time.
