Beams, columns, subroof

Dee and I took a mid-winter break and traveled to Costa Rica last week.  Went to a pretty remote little town on the west coast of the country called Nosara.  It is a pretty well known place in the surfing community but otherwise not so much.  Will be posting pictures on Facebook so look for more info on that adventure there.

But while we were gone the boys made progress on the house.  Got the slab poured for the garage.  Looks real nice.  Now they have someplace to store the beams and columns which are going up.  When they poured the slab they also poured the smaller supports for the exterior columns which will support the beams that will support the roof.

The roof is almost entirely framed now and the subroof (or roof sheeting) is in.  Hopefully that will allow the inside spaces to start drying out.  Wouldn't hurt if it would stop raining for more than a day or two in a row either.

As you can see from the photos below, it is really starting to take the shape of a home.  The roof extension over the front entrance is now framed.

And the deck roof framing is up along with the 4 columns and beam which supports this end.

New Garage floor and the rest of the gluelams yet to be installed.
