I've got gas.....

.....LP gas that is.   Actually I don't have the gas yet but I now have a 500 gallon tank buried 5 feet underground.  That first fill is going to be a doozy at $1.69 per gallon.  But it is another milestone met.
Lots more going on but first photos of the LP tank.  Only thing that will be visible above ground will be about 10" of the valve box.

And about 40' of gas line to the house.  Hope I remember not to do any digging in this area down the road.

Pretty exciting huh?

The tile work is proceeding.  Our tile guy Jake is there every day.  He lives in Enumclaw, which is on the other side of the Cascades, which would be a 3 hour commute each way so he is staying in our one and only Kingston Motel.  He says it gets a little noisy around 2am when the fisherman get up and head down to their boats.  So all the tile is in and grouted.  Jake will come back in about a week to seal the tile and grout and do any final touch up.

And we want our guests to enjoy a little of the luxury so here is the guest bath.

Painters are back to start work on the molding and doors.  Filling the nail holes, sanding, masking, and generally getting ready to start the final coats.  They are supposed to start spraying tomorrow.  They also have all the interior doors off the hinges as the manufacturer shipped them with the wrong hinges - oiled bronze vs the brushed nickel we ordered.

Next week is going to be a busy week.  Appliances are being delivered, the rain garden will be built, the granite and marble countertops will be installed, and the electrical finish work will resume.  And speaking of countertops, here are the granite slabs that will go in the kitchen.  Two slabs about the same size.  Don't ask me what they cost.  I don't like thinking about it.

Not relevant to the house construction but here is Dee's new toy.  Hated seeing her moving rocks and dirt around the 12 acres with a hand wheelbarrow so this is our 2005 Polaris 500cc ATV with trailer hitch to assist with farm chores.  Picked it up on Craig's List

  1. New posting on Craig's List: Home wanted for tall, hairy, mature male who has a lot of gas. Last year he gave me a pitchfork for my birthday, and this year an ATV-rock hauler. His last girlfriend got a vacuum cleaner for Christmas. This man knows how to give cool presents. For sale or lease, but has to be home on weekends to operate tractor and trench-digger and keep my wine glass filled. Respond to Bufflehead Pond Farm, Hansville, WA. Free deer with offer (all you can catch).

  2. This is gorgeous! I'm in awe over those granite countertops-wow! Such a beautiful home and I can't wait to see it! I'm ready to come pick blackberries at Bufflehead Pond. I see a book in there somewhere. The title will be, "On Bufflehead Pond...."
